- Pull the slide back to line up the take down notch on the slide with the slide stop knuckle push the slide stop pin from the opposite side of the pistol using a finger or a small tool and remove the slide stop.
- Gently pull the slide forward off of the frame.
- Remove the Dawson Precision® Tool-Less Guide Rod, by pushing forward on the flange of the guide rod to expose the take-down lever.
- Depress the lever and lower it down onto the front ledge of the reverse plug to capture the system.
- Remove recoil system from the shooter side of the spring tunnel, rotating it slightly to clear the link.
- Slide the link forward on the barrel and pull it out from the muzzle end of the slide.
- Use a brush and cleaning rag or paper towel to clear away debris from your slide rails, frame surfaces and barrel feed ramp.
- Use your bore brush to clean the bore of your barrel, utilizing the memory flex cable to brush the boar from breech to muzzle. Repeat this step as needed.
- Apply a small amount of CLP to your bore mop and oil the bore of your barrel.
- Using a clean patch, wipe away excess oil from the inside of the barrel.
- Remove any carbon from the inside of your compensator with a brush or scraper and apply a thin layer of CLP to the inside of the comp.

Reassembly
- Ensure the link is flipped forward towards the muzzle and reinstall the barrel.
- Rotate the guide rod into place and push onto the rear of the flange to release the takedown lever.
- Gently lower it into place.
- Line up the slide rails to the corresponding rails on the frame to reinstall the slide. Be sure that the flange is pushed up against the barrel and not kicking out towards the frame, and that the barrel is rotated correctly so that it will seat inside the frame.
- Look for the link through the slide stop hole in your frame. The pin on your slide stop must insert through the hole of your link in order to function properly. If the link is not lined up to the hole, simply use a small tool to drop it into place.
- Insert your slide stop into the frame through the link hole and rest it gently against your frame.
- Pull the slide back to line up your takedown notch with the knuckle of your slide stop and fully seat the slide stop into your frame.
- Rack the slide to check for proper function, and you’re all set.
